Adding references to a private group can be done in multiple ways:

  • Dragging existing references into your chosen group.
  • Going to 'Add files' by selecting the option in the top right whilst viewing your chosen group.
  • Right clicking on empty space within the group view and then selecting 'Add files'.

You can also follow ways 2 and 3 for adding manual entries into a group.

With private groups, if you add a reference from your library which also contains the original document, other members of the private group will also be able to download and read that document.

Once a document has been added to the private group, other users viewing the Documents tab will see an icon prompting them to download the file. They can then open this document using the Mendeley PDF viewer and read it in its entirety.
